Measuring heads feet maths.

 Kia ora

This week we have been working on Measurement. We had to measure our maths group foot and head. The day after we had to make a graph to see whose head was the biggest or we could chose to do our groups feet. I liked doing the head measurement the best .Here is my slide of my groups head and feet.

Tectonic Plates

 Kia Ora bloggers,

So a couple of weeks ago my class and I got into groups of four. Then we were given  a plastic plate, some sweet chilli sauce, and 2 pink wafer's to demonstrate how earthquakes can start by the plates moving in a convergence, divergence or transform way.  Do you know what transform means?  I learnt how to under stand how plates work, and how they can move in different ways.  The hardest thing was trying not to eat the wafers. And the easiest thing for me was under standing how the plates work.

lahar alarm warning

 Kia ora,
Today we built Mt Ruapehu in the sandpit. We also made the Whangaehu River valley, the plain below the mountain and the railway bridge at Tangiwai. We wanted to learn how the lahar destroyed the bridge in 1953 causing the Tangiwai Disaster. Kora and Ariana poured lots of water into the crater we had made on top of our mountain. It whoosed down the side of the mountain and into the river valley. The bridge collapsed and bits of our train fell into the river. After that, we watched a short video about what do do if you are on Mt Ruapehu when the lahar siren sounds.  Now I know how to keep safe from a lahar if one happens when I am on a mountain.  Here is my Hazard Notice with the most important information.

North Island Piopio's

Kia Ora blogger,

Last term me and a group worked together to answer 5 questions about the North Island Piopio,
they were native New Zealand birds. The hard thing for me would be having to search there environment and the way that they did things. The easiest thing would definitely writing the words down.

Underpants lovers

Kia Ora bloggers,
In the last three days me and my class have been doing creative writing, and this writing topic was aliens
that steal your underpants.  The hard thing for me would be really really putting detail in to it, but the easiest thing would be writing the story from the back of my head. I really in joyed this task, because
I really love writing.

Underpants Lovers
Long ago, when I was a little young boy we didn’t have much, not even underpants. Somehow my mother got me some, they were blue and had golden glory trucks on them. I tried to wear them every day but mommy said that I had to put them in the pot to boil so they could be cleaned. So I watch the hole process and for a good darn reason. Obviously I was worried that someone would steal them.

One day, mommy hung them up on our clothes line. They were hanging by green pegs. I watched them all day from 1:00pm till 6:30pm, I didn’t even have lunch. Then,  mommy called me for supper. “Come inside my little boy, it is time for supper, you haven’t eaten all day.” “But mommy” I replied. “no buts, come on, your underpants will be fine”. Grumpily I walked inside and  quickly ate tea...

Then mommy said that I had to go to bed.
So I sat on my bed trying to stay awake
To make sure nobody stole my underpants,
but I accidentally fall asleep. All of a sudden being the light sleeper that I am, I woke up to a racket. BING! Poing! BLING! DING! I zoomed into the kitchen getting a pan just in case we were getting robbed.
For some reason, I didn’t think about waking up my
Mother and father at the time. So quietly I snooped all over the house, but then I realised the noise was coming from outside my bedroom window where my underpants are.

Slowly I crept to peek through my curtains...it wasn’t my friends, it wasn’t a roddent, it wasn’t humans either… it was aliens. There were twenty, they were gray, and they had three eyes, six arms and legs, and they were really fat. The aliens had crashed there ship on my lawn, but how did nobody wake up to it?

Moving fast from my bedroom to the backdoor I quickly hid behind a big red pot plant with a little dead tree planted in it. I jumped out at them and I told them to back off! They spoke english, I thought in my head,I asked them to backaway politely incase they came to capture me. They were nice, they said “as long as you
help us rebuild our ship we won’t take your underpants”. I said “yes”. So, we successfully did it and now till this day I didn’t tell any one, and my under were safe. Till they come again.

A day in isolation

Kia Ora,
Last week we had to choose a task to blog and I  have chose to do a day in isolation.
Something I have learnt is how to embed a document. The easy part was writing the steps down.
And the hard part would of been to do the times for each step. What I find fun about this task  was
that I got to learn and write about a day in isolation.
Bye.
