Christmas decoration

Hello everyone,

Today me and my  whole class has made Christmas decorations to funraise for our school ski trip next year. So we made Christmas decorations to sell at our school whanua night.

What I didn’t like was cleaning up the mess that I made. I liked making Bob that's my elf's name. 

I made an elf and all I had to do was:

1. Get a toilet paper roll.

2 get a ribbon

3 get a small kete.

4 get googly eyes

5 get materials

And then you have.

So today we had to do a plan to make a Christmas decoration to
help fundraise  for our school ski trip next year. And the hard thing I
think was is finding a price for your decoration. And the fun and easy part of this task was probably talking about how fun it will be to make.

So today at Ohaeawai Primary School we had to practice essential list 6,7,8. I only got
list 7 done. The tricky part of this task was finding the root word. The easy thing was probably
just getting through slide after slide after I figured out what root words are.  I found this task fun
good to help your learning and very very easy to go through.

My ambition for 2020

This year I am a year 5 at Ohaeawai Primary School. I have enjoyed trying to help little kids when they are sad or hurt.
My favourite thing that happened this year was probably pet day because there were a lot of cool
animals there.
And my least favourite thing that's happened was  I think cross country because it
was very very hard and long.

Next Year I am a year 6. My goal for 2020 is trying to be reliable. To help my schools rubbish problem I think we should make a stop to littering and get people to help clean up.
I want to have a responsible group of year 6's to go and do a little clean up around the school every day and hopefully that will help stopping litter.

My learning
Well, my learning so far has been pretty good but I think I might need to focused a bit more instead of talking. Hopefully I will be reliable, trustworthy and caring enough to be a young leader.

My Margaret Peter's Spelling Test Result.

Kia ora everyone

Today, we sat the Margaret Peters Spelling Test. I scored 42 which gives me a spelling age of  12.5yrs.

At the beginning of the year, I scored 31 and had a spelling age of  8.7 yrs.

So, I improved my spelling age by about three years!!!

I think I got this result because I try to not waste time, I try to do spelling as focussed as possible,and I love 

getting smarter.

We have been making movie's in group's of six seven and five. My group's movie  is about when all of us go into a hospital and one by one we go missing and at the end nobody saw us again. We  did  another one but it got accidentally deleted but we are going good on this one.

Science fair

Just yesterday we presented a science fair experiment for our school.  My group made the three lolly questions and we were looking at which lolly would dissolve first.  The hard part was making the box and the easy thing was sticking the photos on to the box.  The lolly's were mackintosh mint and  fruit burst - check out our presentation to see what dissolved first.

Yesterday we were learning about science,  We got into our science fair groups. We were writing down question that may interested us in our science fair. 

The hard bit was when I tried to come up with questions to sot my object. I found that the easy part was writing my question down.

The learning behind this task was exploring equipment to support our science fair.

We have been doing some research about Planet earth and Beyond. I decided to try and find out what gravity is. Here is my presentation. I got lots of help from Sam, Sydney-Rose and Mrs B. My best part was finding out you can jump higher on the moon than on Earth.

Myth Writing

Hi, My name is Kora. We have been writing Myths. I chose to write one about 'How rainbows appeared" Here is my story. My favourite part about writing my myth was how the unicorn spewed.
What I found hard was adding description of characters.

How unicorns appeared...

High in the clouds in Neverland there were chocolate fountains, candy cane trees and misty jungles. It had so many animals like short elves that ride beautiful white unicorns in the city at night.

One misty night there was an elf riding a unicorn and the unicorn was running

around and around a building too many times. The unicorn started to feel unwell and spewed up golden shimmering colourful dust. Glowing rainbow they called it. Everyone in the town woke up because it was so bright and everyone admired it. And now, in Neverland that is why there are rainbows everywhere.
